For those of you who don't know what a power ballad is, they are those sappy, heart-felt, love songs made famous by hair/glam metal bands in the 80's. An album wasn't complete unless there was one song about losing a lover, or breaking someone's heart. MY personal favorite power ballad is "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions. I don't know why, but I belt that song out everytime I hear it.
What is your FAVORITE power ballad?
Well, I've always been into the heavier side of things. Back in the 80's when I was in Junior High I listened to Metallica, Exodus, Testament, Anthrax, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits ect. And I still listen to them. But when it comes to power ballads, I think Whitesnake made the best power ballads. They made too many to mention. lol... Even today, you will hear that song "Here I go again" or "Is this love" on the radio. They where a talented band when it came to ballads. I wasn't to much into the "oooh baby, ware spandex and all the make-up you can" glam metal scene. But I won't deny that they did make some good music. Especially Whitesnake and Motley Crue.
