My son is desperate to have his done like Brian Welch's when it was shorter.....to me it just looks like short dreads, but he's adamant that it isn't. Can anyone help me out with the name of the style that it is/was?

I think he just pulls together with a rubberband then braids it

I think it's just braids....
Korn is probably my favorite band and Heads hair is amazing, but I think he just braided it all on different sides of his hair. His hair is different now, but in the 90's it was like this.
