How long does my hair have to be to donate it?

I'm growing mine to donate it and I've heard two different things now:

a. it has to be 10" long (as in, if you pluck out one hair and measure it and it's 10")

b. it has to be 10" from where a snug rubberband ponytail holder is, flush on the back of one's head presumably, so a PONYTAIL has to be 10" long from the band...

mamma mia- i'm getting a little tired of it being long

There are several different charitys you can donate to each with their own requirements. The 10 inches is measured from the spot at which the ponytail is banded. You must allow another inch or so above that for cutting. They don't cut right at the band. Good luck , kudos to you!! Try "Children with hair loss" they are easier to donate to. (IMO)

Try google and search for Locks of Love. It's faster than Yahoo! Answers and shows you can survive independently.

I'm not sure (sorry!) But I commend you on doing this. So many people who lose their hair to disease are very appreciative when they get people like you to do such selfless acts. So when you do cut your hair, you'll have a new hairstyle to do so much with (as well as the people you donate your hair to) =)
