Okay here is my story. I LOVE emo bands like Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy. At the beginning of the year everyone called me emo, and I said that I wasn't This one girl called me a poser and I got mad and told her off because if I was a poser I would be different than I am now because I like the way I am now.

I kind of dress emo I wear skater shoes and dark clothes and paint my names black (i am a girl by the way.) Now I have deicded that I want to become all the way. I already have an emo hair cut what more can I do? Because I know there is more that I can do.

Emo dressing is weird in that it is mostly a fashion sense, not a lifestyle. FOB and Panic at the Disco are not emo, they are faux punk who wish they could stand up to the Ramones. Avril Lavigne thinks she is punk and dresses how you describe yourself. Ashley Simpson wears the same outifts. Oh, and most likely you and most of the FOB fans are posers but if it makes you happy go, for it. That is all that matters.

Just to let you know Fall Out Boy isnt emo. Before u become emo learn who is and who is not emo. And anybody who posts on yahoo answers "how to help me become emo" is a poser. If you really r emo then it will come naturally and how u dress is what just stands out to u, if u dress like how u think emo people do dress u r a poser and a follower.

Your question made me very angry. I'm not even kidding. If you truly are emo on the inside, then why do you need help becoming it? Be yourself, and if you truly are "emo" then you should have no trouble conveying it.

First of all, labels are RIDICULOUS. Why are you labelling yourself? Do you realize the limitations and ignorance you are conveying? Dress HOWEVER YOU WANT. Don't worry if it's emo or not. If you see something really cute that's preppy, wear it. If you see something that you love and it's goth, WEAR IT.

Second, Panic! at the disco IS NOT EMO. Their songs are upbeat and many of them have positive vibes and lyrics, which are not stereotypically emo. Sounds like you're blinded by what everyone says. Fall out boy is a little emo, but they too have a very upbeat sound and a lot of their lyrics are far from emo.

DON'T CHANGE WHO YOU ARE. if you're "emo" then you don't DECIDE to be that way. you just are, dammit.
