try to pin it up in a certain way so it looks shorter....i've seen it done in celebs lately. curl it a little, too, that will certainly give off the effect of shorter hair.
hope i helped =]閳?br>My school dance is themed 1920's and 30's. i have long hair and don't know how to do it for the dance. help!
This will take practice, but what you need to do is create a low, loose pony tail, then twist the pony into a bun and push up and pin. It'll create a kinda-of bob shape with a wide, flattish bun at the back. It's how my grandma used to have her hair. OR do it in two plaits, or two buns (again, low ones). Then all you need is a headband across your forehead!

Tease you hair. Put LOTS of hair spray. Alot of people had these hair styles. Here are some pictures!

For 20's and 30's most of the fashion has shorter hair... (Peh).. but over looking that. I would go for a simple pony tail in back low with the band covered creatively. maybe a curl at the bottom. Have a part out front curled too... Now the common thing I see a lot of is HATS... If you had shorter hair I would tell you to go for a different look, but it would be a shame to cut your hair for a dance.. LOL. I would suggest googling and looking around... :-)
